British Harbour Trail

This is an amazing 3 to 4 hour hike through the resettled communities of Kerley’s Harbour and British Harbour, where you can see and feel the history of outport Newfoundland. The hike passes the Random Passage site, continuing to Kerley’s Harbour, where you can find the remnants of old homes. Follow the pathway heading right, around the base of the harbour to continue along the trail to British Harbour. The path has a steep incline leaving Kerley’s Harbour which then follows high barrens, ponds through moss carpeted forests, rocky terrain and our very own provinces flower, the Pitcher Plant. Once at British Harbour view the remains of a gone by era, with cabins nestled amongst the sheltered cove.
